SELF-HELP/CYBERMED/CYBERPSYCH
Unlike most multi-media enchancements currently available, Koan music is very resource-conservative with even longer pieces eating just a few Kilobytes of disk space. My "pick" for online meditation music! If you have the plug- in: you can run the embedded piece "Mythou2" giving the icon a left click with your mouse. To stop, rewind or view information about the Koan piece one right-mouse-button click should bring up the Koan options menu then left mouse your desired option. I do get a missing-file error message when I play the music on the web from my browser: a "cannot find aweman.dll" error. Clicking on the OK button on the message dispatches the error without further problems. Aweman.dll is part of the Soundblaster 32 bit sound card library files and many of the koan pieces "best heard" (supposedly) with some of Sound Blaster's 32 bit cards. I have a lowly 16-bit Sound Blaster card and still like the sound I get (after I close the warning message). If my 32 bits guess is wrong and you know better, go ahead and enlighten me. You can visit Sseyo's site to get more information, download the plug-ins or some of the free music samples. Most older samples are meditation-style music while many of the newer samples are more dance-beat. Some sites may have the music start up as soon as you load the page. To turn the tune off, click the Koan icon with your right-mouse button once to bring up the Koan "menu" and choose Stop. Although the versions are not set for use with Netscape Gold 3, I have run a number of the Koan plug-ins with Netscape 2.01 Personal and 3 Gold with no crashes. Koanweb does not display properly with 3Gold (the menu bar that was there under 2.01 has vanished), but I can still get to all of its functions using the left and right mouse buttons.
